Suggestion: Weekly tournament mode

Hello,

I started playing SMITE a few months ago and have been asking myself the same question the entire time: Why is there no tournament feature / mode (on an amateur leve)l?

My suggestion is to create a weekly tournament feature.

Instead of having tournaments being hosted by websites or sponsors we could also have some fun tournament mode.

How would my suggestion work and what are the benefits of this feature

First off we would have a weekly tournament sign-up for up to 5 mans teams and solo queue'ers. Those would be placed into knockout-brackets of 8 teams (or less/more). These tournaments can be organised every Friday/Saturday/Sunday at a specific time for each region. With a maximum amount of brackets being made, so there is a maximum of sign-ups each tournamentday.

What are the benefits of having a tournament mode

• The mode could be a fun addition to the game for the casual players to get a shot at playing competitively with their clan or friends. You could determine a prize-pool such as #1 wins a chets or a certain amount of gems, #2 certain amount of gems, #3 and lower win favor or Fantasy points.

• If there are prizes involved; their is more motivation to play the game. Think about events / quests being played. I often hear people complain that there is no reason to play ranked due to there not being any benefits. Also it would avoid pre-made teams in casual versus during tournament times.

• This gives lower tier teams / amateur teams a chance to improve and maybe play themselves into the spotlight. Same goes for possible amateur players who could play themselves into the spotlight of a professional teams.

• I think this addition could help Hi Rez creating a more interesting game for the community. Maybe even increasing the player base with this feature.

What do you guys think? Also explain why you think its a good or a bad suggestion?

I have experienced such a feature in a past game I played and I can say it has been one of the best features in an online game that I have ever played.
