USB Play-back capability
Need some honest opinion from folks who have been using Shield. I don't care much about the gaming on Shield because I'd prefer a dedicated device like PS/XB, the primary functions I am looking for are: 1) streaming 2) local video play-back. As far as streaming goes, there are hundreds of devices that can do more or less the same job, but for local (USB, LAN) play-back, I think WD TV Live held the "gold standard" that it literately plays all format/codecs. The thing I need from Shield is to combine these two functions into once device, especially for high-end codecs.
Specifically, I wonder if Shield can play back video from a USB drive with:
- DTS HDMA, Dolby TrueHD, Atmos, 7.1 LPCM
- Support for 3D MVC/AVC at high resolution
