The DC Cinematic Universe - I have information on the state of the franchise, upcoming films.

Don't ask why or how. Many of you won't believe me. Hell, I wouldn't either. But I really wanted to get this out there in some shape or form. So take it as you will.

The Batman

I'll start of with this as it was the big reveal today.

So today Ben Affleck decided to release a clip of our Deathstroke in the DCEU. This was indeed just a test footage/costume fitting and photography session, he has indeed been cast. It was not a stunt double. The costume is not final either, it'll be tweaked and overall more streamlined by the time the film starts shooting. They are prepping for filming early next year and aiming for a late 2018 release date. Ben is finally happy with where the script is, but there may be some minor tweaks before principal photography is scheduled to begin.

Tidbits

• Deathstroke is indeed the main villain.

• Amanda Waller plays a key role

• The report of many villains in the film was greatly exaggerated. The Joker does not appear. 2 other members of Batman's rogues gallery have extended cameos.

• A very rough story outline has been put together for a complete Batman trilogy by Johns and Affleck, but it is subject to change.

Justice League

This will be Zack Snyders final entry into the DC extended universe, and he will go out with a bang. The reports of WB and Snyder banging heads over the film was BS. This was always Snyders vision. The lighter tone and increase of humor was always intended. Saying that, it's not a 'light' tone per say, just moreso than other films in the franchise so far.

Tidbits

• Steppenwolf is completely CGI, but he is voiced.

• Ocean Master makes an appearance.

• Superman does indeed return with a black suit, but he doesn't wear it the whole film.

• He also has a somewhat straggly beard and longish hair. Not too long though. It's not a mullet. More the length Henry had at some points in The Tudors.

• Batman doesn't kill anymore, it's addressed in the film. You could probably have guessed that though.

• There are ties to the plot of Wonder Woman, mainly involving Diana though.

-Green Lantern doesn't appear, but he is heavily teased.

• Hans Zimmer wrote themes for all the core members before he decided to stop composing superhero films, they will be used in this film as well as others. He is not returning to compose the whole score.

The Flash

Rick (The Director) is thrilled to be on board and he's bringing a really exciting and fun take on the character. Seth-Grahame Smith's script is still being used, but apparently it was slightly reworked by Famuyiwa and Johns. It's not an origin story, but it will touch on the death of his mother. The reports of The Rogues being the main villains is true. Captain Cold is the main villain.

Tidbits

• It takes place after Justice League

• Cyborg is a supporting member of the cast, but don't expect a buddy cop style film with them both.

• Reverse Flash is being saved for a possible sequel, you may or may not see a yellow blur at some point in the film.

Aquaman

Wan and Johns have come up with a really great story for this one. Again, this one isn't an full blown origin story either. But will heavily feature flashbacks. The amount Man of Steel used is a similar comparison in regards to that. The deep ocean will be a downright terrifying place and Atlantis is the only beacon of light with in that. A thing of beauty. Black Manta will indeed be the main villain but not the only thing that Arthur will take on. Expect giant monster fight sequences like you'd see in a Clash of the Titans movie, only done much better.

Tidbits

• Wans opted to direct this film instead of The Flash, he went with Aquaman as he found that world more interesting and could easily incorporate a lot of horror elements involving the deep sea.

• Amber Heard and Willem Dafoe return.

• Ocean Master is a supporting character. Not a villain yet, but that side of him is hinted at.

• Black Manta hasn't been cast yet, but WN want a big name.

I don't have as much info on these ones but I will share with you what I do know.

Shazam

• WB are actively looking for a director for this one. Edgar Wright is interested and the offer is open to him if he wants it.

• Channing Tatum is being sought after for the role of Shazam after Gambit fell through.

• Bill Batson idolizes Superman

• Superman may have an extended cameo. Henry Cavill is all for it.

Justice League 2

• Snyder will not return

• The film could be delayed by a year or two. Dark Universe will release in 2019 instead.

• Green Lantern Corps will take place before JL2

• Green Lantern is 100% a member of the league

Man of Steel 2 is happening.

• Possible 2019 release date, subject to change.

• WB and Geoff Johns really want JJ Abrams to direct it. Write it also.

• It's a soft reboot for the character, and will likely just be called 'Superman'.

• A villain has not been decided yet. But it 100% will not be an alien threat.

Other things/clearing up false rumors

• Suicide Squad 2 is happening, no release date is set. Ayer will return.

• Cyborg may be delayed

• There isn't a New Gods film planned.

• Alfonso Cuoron isn't directing Green Lantern Corps.

• Patty Jenkins isn't directing JL2, but will return for a Wonder Woman sequel providing the first film makes enough money.

• There is no plans to release an extended cut of Suicide Squad BUT get this. There has been discussion of doing a 6 episode mini event on netflix or a similar format that will include the deleted Joker and Harley scenes. It may even be called 'Joker and Harley' and purely focus on them. That's the only possible 'TV' series that has been discussed. There are no plans for a Titans or Secret Six show.
