Tribal Chief of Nidaros and 7 other tribes... become king of Norway, or nah?

I'm a bit new to the game, and I'm wondering what the practical benefits and drawbacks to creating higher-ranked titles for myself are. Assuming I don't die prematurely.

As a chief, I'm conquering other chiefs outright. It seems like as a jarl, I'd be vassalizing them instead, which makes for headaches. Thoughts?
