The Reaper's Due made child rearing more compelling than it ever has been.

Before this dlc, I pretty much saw child rearing events as little more than annoying event spam. I almost always sent my children off to who ever had a halfway decent education and ignored other traits. I rarely even remembered giving education to my girls or my 4th sons or beyond.

Now I blitz through the child rearing events because im afraid of becoming attached to any one child because Its impossible to know if they are even going to survive the year.

I felt a genuine melancholy looking back as my most recent king, Alfred, and seeing a precession of children and only 5 of them making it to adulthood. And in the end, at 83, he outlived most of his grandchildren. A boy of 14 followed him, only to succumb to pneumonia and get succeeded by his younger brother.

The third son of King Alfred's 8th son ended up ruling England that year.
