What are some good self-found builds to start the league with?

I'm a fairly new player with only about a month and a half of experience so I'm wondering what would be some good self-found builds to start out with when the new league goes live? So far I have tried Cyclone, Earthquake, Arc Crit, and Split Shot.

Also are there classes I should play first when starting the league to maximize skill gems and/or anything else good to know when starting a new league? Thanks!
