How to improve my citizens happiness? [CC]

So, I've just built the biggest town I've ever managed - 450 citizens. Food is fine - I've got all the basic food groups sorted, and health is max. However happiness is very low; only 2 stars. I've built a courthouse, and am trying to make as much alcohol as I can, which isn't much. I have to brewerys, a coffee house, and a couple of taverns, although I suspect this is not enough.

Do you guys know what contributes to happiness, and how do you boost it in medium/large towns?
