What is the connection between a woman's biological imperative to procreate, and the cock carousel?

So I read Rollo's Schedules of Mating, which explains why women utilize the Alpha Fucks, Beta Bucks strategy.

Rollo goes on to comment:

What I think too many people do (maybe you as well) is associate the mechanics of sex with personal gratification and cognitive, willful desire. Obviously there is some choice involved in who a woman finds sexually desirable and available, but it’s a mistake to think that this is the sole motivator for her sexual impulse. “Short term gratification” should really be “short term breeding opportunity”.

I've been under the impression that the carousel for women was all about "having fun", but Rollo appears to reject this in favor of the biological imperative to procreate. But that the carousel even exists, and women are riding it throughout their prime regardless if offspring are created, appears to contradict his assertion.

So if the imperative is to procreate, then why are women riding the carousel for the next 10 years of their prime, instead of riding just once, going home, and starting a family with a provider? I would like to see an article that bridges these two issues.
