Help me remember anime's name.

I need help remembering the name of an anime. I watched it a while ago, and want to rewatch it. The overall plot of the show is lost to me but I do remember a few specific scenes from the anime. The mc gets into or transfers to a high school or university. It is either magic or super power related. First scene I remember is the mc is sitting in class and then he turns around to look at his classmates and a male classmate is looking at him from across the room with a made face, this male class mate is a foreign exchange student if I remember correctly. He is dark skinned. I mention this because he was the only one with that dark of skin. I believe he is wearing a green jacket uniform. The next scene I remember is the mc walking through a courtyard on school grounds with a girl at night. Then another person shows up and starts acting like a not nice person would, and picks a fight. Then out of nowhere a short orangeish haired girl/boy appears, and makes the aggressor retreat. I say girl/boy because her power/magic allows, or makes her split into two people. Like twins. One boy. One girl. One of them died and their spirit latched onto the other.

The last scene that I remember is of a festival. There is some sort of scheme being put into action. The mc tries to get to the source of the problem but no matter how hard he runs the path before him is seemingly infinite and ends at the end of the path (where he began). He somehow breaks the illusion or whatever it was and gets to were he needs to be. This girl he was trying to get to, to help, is being messed with be other students, and creates some sort of alternate world. The mc, the girl, and a not nice person get transferred to this world. The not nice person is transformed/made into a white dog. The mc has to get to the girl to save her and himself from this world. He eventually does so with help from the white dog.

That's all I can remember about the show. I don't remember names of the characters. This scenes are not guaranteed to be in order of the progression of the show. Any help would be amazing. Thanks in advance. One last thing it would have been on crunchyroll at some point last year (2015)
