Red Power movement
I'm looking to get started on some research into the American Indian branch of the 20th century civil rights movements. I was under the impression that AIM was a specific group within the larger Red Power movement (much like the Black Panthers were one part of the Black Power movement), but from a cursory bit of reading, it seems that AIM was the Red Power movement, full stop. I'm not sure if I've got the right of it.
Could someone offer me a good starting point on research into American Indian-specific civil rights efforts apart from AIM? I'm quite the novice at this and feeling a bit overwhelmed.
