Trainer level preliminary results

Here are some early results to a poll I started today available here: http://www.strawpoll.me/11108460

The average level (which is also the modal category) is almost exactly 24.

The distribution is roughly Gaussian with a standard deviation of 3.5 levels.

46% of users are at or above level 25.
32% of users are at or above level 26.
21% of users are at or above level 27.
14% of users are at or above level 28.
9% of users are at or above level 29.
5% of users are at or above level 30.

Of the n=2139 sample 2 users reported being above level 35 and 3 users reported being below level 8.

One should be careful to note that this is a sample of silph road users, the population of which is likely to be atypical. Among the general population I would expect a smaller mean value.

Since August 8th trainer levels have changed somewhat. Another user did a similar poll (you can see his reddit post here: https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/comments/4wi6gd/3754_pok%C3%A9mon_go_trainer_levels/) notably:

• Mean has increased from just under 20 to 24
• S.D has decreased from 4.4 to 3.5, this is perhaps not unexpected as the experience barrier increases in the higher levels the variance will tend to drop between players.

I would appreciate if people keep filling the poll in, I'd like to keep collating results for another day to get a larger sample size.
