Hormones. Fastest method to get on them?

Call me impatient but I am pretty desperate to get on hormones. Since I stumbled across being transgender I've been just wishing to get on with it and my life, I don't want to deal with these rediculous wait times... It's making me feel a lot worse about my situation knowing despite coming out and changing my name nothing really separates me from just a normal guy who tries to act effeminitley.

I have heard about dr webberlys service and contacted her a few months ago. She helped me discover a councillor who has kept me going for a few months now but despite mentioning hormones and how the wait time is making it worse for me nothing was even mentioned about possible bridging...

Moreover I've found out recently that your GP can prescribe you bridging hormones but I'm not sure how I'd be able to convey what I want in a confident enough way I guess.

Finally I've heard of self medicating but it's so scary just to think that doctors know what they are doing and I do not ^ ^

What would you guys say is the fastest and safest method onto hormones?
