2008 buick Lucerne cx. Fuel issues.

So I just replaced my fuel pump on my 2008 buick Lucerne cx. It has the 3800 series 3. It is now running really rough. I took it the auto part store to do a diagnostics check. They said it was because it was running lean. Not enough fuel. Any ideas on what that is? Any help would be immensely appreciated.
