Neo Geo Emulator Help

I posted this over in r/recalbox, but thought I'd post it here as well since this is a more active community.

I can't get Neo Geo Games to run on my Raspberry Pi 3 running Recalbox 4.0 beta5. I have tried putting the unzipped neogeo.zip BIOS file in both the /share/bios and /share/roms/neogeo folders (and both at the same time), and when I start up my RP3, Neo Geo shows up in Emulation Station and shows all the unzipped roms I've downloaded and placed into /share/roms/neogeo. When I select any of them the screen goes black for a few seconds, then comes directly back to the list of games. I've tried all of the emulators and cores available for the Neo Geo on this Recalbox distribution, but they all exhibit the same behavior. Anybody know a fix for this problem? I really need to get some Last Blade in my life soon!
