Upgrade to Android 7.0 provide any benefit?

Finally managed to get my Nexus 6P and wondering if 7.0 provides any benefits to riftcat? Normally the phone runs quite hot doing anything so perhaps the CPU can be scaled down as it only needs to decode the video from the PC?
