Served By Email

Question I in California served my ex wife with papers about 2 weeks ago. Her lawyer emailed me today asking if he can serve me via email the response. If not, then he asked where I would be to get that papers delivered to me. I do not trust this guy. Is this standard to serve via email. He also said, please let me know which works best for you. I would assume email is ok, but I need you to confirm with a reply.
