Do you go by other scales or your own?

For example, my scale is half broken. One of the weight markers fell off, so whenever it gives me a weird reading like saying I'm 40 pounds lighter than I am, I just pick it off the floor, but the weight marker back on, and it gives me a more accurate reading.

I know for a fact that I've been losing weight through CICO, the scale shows 204 this morning. At my parent's house, their brand new scales shows 212 (it actually showed 215 but I was wearing clothes and I just ate, so I deducted 3 pounds to be on the safe side) pounds!

I know for a fact that I can't be 212. Last month I was 217 pounds at the doctor's, to see my parent's scale showing 5 pounds less even though my body clearly shows that more than 5 pounds was lost is weird.

For example, the pants that I just bought two months ago was a bit tight and I was 217-220, these same pants that I have now are comfortably sitting on me but I can tell they are getting looser to the point that if I were to lose an additional 8 pounds, it'll probably start falling down.

So which scale do you go by? I'm going by my scale mostly for my ego because it's showing my progress, but I can't help thinking that what if my parent's scale was right and I only lost 5 pounds?

I mostly ate maintenance since two months ago, then dropped down to 1800 calorie days. Finally down to around 1500-1700 calorie days. Whenever I eat maintenance or above it I reduce. For example, this past Friday I ate 3000 calories, Saturday I ate 2100 calories, Sunday I ate 1500 calories, today I only ate 500 calories (so far, I'm just not that hungry). That still gives me a 300-400 calorie deficit on average over 4 days.

What say you guys? Do you go by your scale or by another person's? I can clearly see the difference in my body from when I was 217 to now. Oh, and for reference I'm going to the doctor any way next week so I'll be measured there too.
