Reprojection advise
I'm hoping for some advise on the best setting for playing the Vive, as at the moment I cant find a sweet spot.
I'm either getting a lot of reprojection and frame skipping or I'm sitting with full time reprojection and the poor experience that implies.
Rig
- i7 2600 @ 4.6GHz
- 16GB Ram
- GTX 1070 @ 1800GHz (PCIe 2.0 16x bus)
- SSD drives for steam
Software
- Nvidia 368.95 drivers (hotfix version)
- Steam and Steam VR are Beta
- Windows 10 anniversary update - Rebuilt Windows in the last week
- I haven't changed the SS setting in steamvr.vrsettings (renderTargetMultiplier not set)
I managed to play VR Funhouse with some frame skipping but not a huge amount, on Medium settings. Was surprised as I thought I'd not cope with it.
Raw Data is a nightmare though, I cant find settings that make it playable, except if I aim for full time reprojection.
When setting in game SS to 2.0, and everything else to max, the game plays well with almost no frame skipping and looks good. (But obviously is full time reprojection)
If I try turn things down to get out of reprojection it's worse. I'm finding that reprojection kicking in every other second is making me VR sick way more than if it's on full time. Has anyone else found this?
Main question: What have people with similar setups found to be the best settings? For Raw Data (and other UE game) as well as in general?
Any other advise to tweak up my setup and get the best experience going?
Thanks all
