Pot SD says he needs training????
I am a financially comfortable SB wannabe in my mid thirties. Attractive, petite, exotic features, comfortable in my own skin.
Anyway, after spending my twenties slaving over my not-so-glamorous career, I have a pretty unorthodox personal life (string of unsatisfactory relationships with guys who either get intimidated by my independence or guys who end up becoming clingers-on). I'm reasonably happy where I am at the moment - I have taken a step back career wise and now have ample free time to actually pamper myself for a change. So I joined SA.
Anyway, to cut a long story short, I whittled down a whole bunch of men to two or three potentials. They know where I stand and are all saying that they are dead keen on 'pampering' a lady who is confident and more worldly than the usual 18-23 year old college student.
Ended up exchanging email addresses and phone numbers with a mild-mannered single gent in his late forties who lives alone and collects vintage race cars as a hobby. Works in finance. Intensely private. Bit of a loner.
We never actually talked about an arrangement directly even after communicating for 1-2 weeks constantly on a daily basis. It is lots of to-and-fro-ing and endless musings re. human nature and the psychological contortions required to engage in Sugar dating, almost as if we are denying the fact that we are indeed registered and supposed to be participating, not just watching people on SA conduct their transactions. Lots of talking about life, politics, religion, everything except for sugar.
So we met up - simple coffee and brunch on a Sunday afternoon. He was thrilled that I turned up. Then exclaimed that I looked better in person, unlike his other date who ended up being much heavier in person. Apparently she also swore like a sailor. We talked for five hours. He asked me out for dinner on Tuesday. Went well.
Asked me out for a drive a couple days later. Went well.
Okay... so he hasn't actually done anything improper - its just as if we were two old friends hanging out talking crap twice a week and doing fun stuff. I feel really comfortable talking to him. But then comes the sugar part - he literally bought me a box of chocolates on the third date, but becomes really uneasy when I joke about the SB-level extravagant pampering he is supposed to be doing. Sighing and saying he wishes I was hanging out with him without needing an exchange of goods, that he would gladly give of his own volition but without the stress of this being such an artificial transaction.
He sent me an email recently asking me to 'train him' as he has no idea how to pamper a woman and is afraid he will disappoint. Followed by an excited rant about how he discovered women's spa retreats and how he never even knew that such things existed.
So, I kind of feel like I dug my own hole here. What do you guys do in such a situation?
