Regarding choice of wetsuit

Hey guys!

Looking into getting into surfing here at home after having had alot of fun abroad. I live in Sweden where the waves are at their best during the cold-as-fuck-season. Meaning, I need a wetsuit. From what I understand something in the 5/4 range. Right now all I have is a 3/2 which will be too cold within like a month. Question, what do I look for regarding materials etc.? Looking up suits online localy I see a wide price range. I checked the wiki and felt maybe you guys had some more details to offer.

So, what makes a good wetsuit? Are there any specific materials to get/not to get? How big of an impact does branding have on the price? Looking at used suits aswell, is wear and tear a thing to be careful of? Anything particular to have in mind? Thankfull for any advice you may have! :)
