Pickup for a 1930s Henry L. Mason archtop?
I have a 16" archtop guitar which was one of Gibson's depression era model line guitars. It's a fantastic playing and sounding acoustic f-hole archtop, although the v-shaped neck takes some getting used to.
I would like to put some kind of a pickup on it. I would have liked to do something like a DeArmond Rhythm Chief on it, but it really only has about 3/16 of an inch of clearance for a pickup under the strings. I've listened to sound samples of the Definity system which is essentially a soundboard transducer, but I haven't cared for the tone I've heard.
Some pics of the guitar can be seen here.
Do you guys have any recommendations?
