Confused student want wants an engineering degree

I'm currently interested in Mechanical Engineering, but I feel that like is not that major for me since I want work in NYC. What's the best engineering major in nyc? More importantly I want to work with building prosthetics and research in making prosthetics. What engineering major is needed to make prosthetics? Also I'm currently working towards my B.E/B.S, going to be first year, so not even close to a M.E/M.S.
