Need help buying first truck

Hi, thanks for clicking.

So here's the situation, after years of city living and driving, I fell in love, got married, and moved out to the country. For a myriad of reasons, it has become apparent that I need to buy a truck. However, I am beyond clueless when it comes to the plethora of trucks available, and need help navigating this decision.

Here's my vitals:

  1. Looking to spend between $30-35k
  2. More interested in mid-sized trucks due to better fuel economy and maneuverability.
  3. Will be primarily a commuter truck, but needs to be able to carry bedloads of supplies from Lowes on the weekend, as well as a trailer with ZTR mower.
  4. Would like for it to be reliable
  5. Have comfortable interior. I'm 6'4 and around 280 lbs.
  6. Ideally, I'd like for this truck to last for a decade or more.
  7. Looking to buy new.
  8. Want to be able to sync up my phone via bluetooth, but don't need fancy navigation systems. A back-up camera would be nice.

I've been looking at the Tacoma, since I've driven a Camry for years and have loved Toyotas for their reliability, but I have heard they have a small interior and their mileage isn't all that great compared to a full-sized truck. I have driven a Chevy Colorado, and have found it spacious and comfortable, but am very worried about GM's track record when it comes to everything breaking/maintenance. The Honda Ridgeline seems interesting, but might be too pricy and not enough of a true truck.

I'm fairly open to trims and the like. I'm not looking to do much off-roading, but having the option might be nice.

Any advice?
