Does the FileSystem menu always have to look like a huge mess? No folder organization option?

I'm new to Godot and I'm used to using Unity.

I've been looking through the demo example "Platformer," and I noticed that the "FileSystem" panel never gives an option to organize your files? There's no folder icon or anything like that. The platformer game's FileSystem menu is literally everything in the game: http://i.imgur.com/aXttNKu.png Does it always have to be like this?

The "scene" thing, of course, looks nice and organized: http://i.imgur.com/x5kZ0WV.png

But why isn't this "FileSystem" hierarchy organized? Can it be organized? I'm skeptical, considering the fact there's no built in "Folder" or "Group" option for it, would it be "safe" to just make folders for all my stuff (for example all the player sprites in one folder, village sprites in another folder, enemy sprites in another folder, etc.) in Windows Explorer? Would it break how things are supposed to work?

I'm probably going about this all wrong, but seeing that mess of all the files in that Filesystem menu makes me visibly cringe.
