Best neighborhoods for running

Hi all, I'm currently looking for a place to stay in Madrid this fall, and am a huge runner. I am attending Complutense and would like to be somewhat close to el centro and the university, but also want to be able to get out and do long runs from where I live(10 mi/ 12 km+). At first I was thinking Arguelles because I could get to parquet del oeste easily, but am I then locked in the city from there or can I keep going places? Is there an easy way to get to la casa de campo from arguelles? Is puerta del angel area good because it's by the river and casa de campo. Better luck in the cuatro caminos area? I really don't know and any advice would be great. Thanks!
