Transfer Student - A little confused

My orientation is tomorrow so I will obviously have my question answered eventually but wanted a few questions answered before heading in.

So from the email I received last week it appears I will be helped in the process of enrolling into my classes at the orientation. However, coming from a community college I am unsure of how Discussions and Lectures work. Do I have to take both a DIS and LEC for my classes and if so will I be taking both for all classes that provide them?
