Bad idea for two 18 year olds to rent out own apartment?

Me and my girlfriend want to live on our own in school. Is renting out an apartment or house a bad idea? With rent at around 700 I think if we both worked on the side, we could do it, but I am not to sure how comfortably. I would be racking in around 1600 a month, plus whatever she makes which would be around 1000. Feel free to ask away, thank you. Also, we both have our own cars (lucky enough for parents to help us out with those). Edit: Optimistic i'd make more around 1600 a month. So combined we'd be making around 2600 or so
