Are Turks aware that their military is supporting mostly hardline Islamist and jihadist groups? If so, what do you think about it?
As a foreigner (Italian) who has looked at this sub once in a while since the coup to get informed about the situation in your country (funnily enough, this sub seems almost exclusively about politics differently from most countries' subs), i would be interested to know what you think about it, especially kemalists and seculars.
The groups that i would define as such are Zenki, listed as a Islamist terrorist group by Jordan, who beheaded a 12 years old during one of the offensives in Aleppo last year and who has often tortured journalists and humanitarian workers alongside like minded groups and were recently joined by a group called "Black Jihad", and Ahrar Al Sham, a Wahhabbist terrorist group, who wants to impose sharia, transform Syria into an Islamic state and are tied to Al Qaeda. I could go on and on.
The point is that aside from the Turkmen Brigades (who still closely work with Al Nusra and the Grey Wolves), your country is still mostly employing hardline groups. I understand that PKK-PYD is a concern and you don't want to strenghten them and like minded groups but you are giving a lifeline to groups who could destabilize the region further and maybe even threaten Turkey in a not so distant future.
