Am I the only one who is about 1 rank behind?

I stared out this season with the idea of pushing through the Blues into the Purples. I can't even get out of Gold this season. Am I alone in this problem? Is everybody just better? Are the ranks still not settled? Last season I fished a Rising Star, can't break Challenger Elite this time.
