Need help on choosing a motherboard!

Modern Games on high-ish graphics, multimedia.

If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, FPS, game settings)

1920x1080 (although may eventually buy a 1440p monitor), at least 60fps on modern games above medium graphics settings.

Looking up on Amazon and seeing all the possible motherboards is completely overwhelming to me as this is the first time I'm building my own PC. I'm not sure on what I should settle on. I'm also not sure whether this comes under Motherboard, but I have a pair of Tritton Pro+ 5.1 surround sound headphones which use an optical audio cable. If there are motherboards out there (that aren't too expensive, no more than £125) that would be preferable over others, however if there aren't, then no biggie I'll need to find an adapter or alternative for it.
