EML5: Difference between clubs?

I just started playing Rory McIlroy PGA Tour and could use some help. What's the difference between the numbers on Irons or woods? Also like the difference between a 7 degree driver and a 12 degree driver? Sorry if this sounds stupid or if this is the wrong place. New to the sport.
