[Australia]or[England/UK] Consumer protection and refund?

Hello guys,

Recently there was a game released named No Man's sky, which many were claiming to falsely advertise to gain sales and thus people have been requesting refunds.

I actually didn't buy the game but I do know in australia, false adverstising is illegal and refunding videogames (within something like 2 weeks) is a very easy and straightforward process.

My question is concerning digital purchases. Does this law go through? In the gaming subreddit, many American players are unable to refund the digital copy of the game through sony.

Let's say the game IS doing false advertsising and say its missing content etc, does the australia or english(in the uk) law overlap sony's policy and can they force sony to give a refund? Is sony's policy different here than in america because of our consumer protection laws?

or is it a case of "the law is there but you need to fork out 2000 dollars for a lawyer to get a resolution" type thing?
