[PSA] Xbox One S requires hdcp 2.2 compliant devices to work properly.

Just thought I would let those who were on the fence on the xbox one s be aware of this. I bought mine yesterday for the uhd blu rays and 4k netflix on my 4k tv. After all day troubleshooting why my uhd blu ray would auto change to 1080p and no content on Netflix was showing up (however, my dashboard and games would upscale to 4k), I found the problem. Xbox one s requires all devices it is connected to , to support hdcp 2.2. My tv is hdcp 2.2 compliant, however my receiver that was bought in 2014 for $900 only supported hdcp 1.4. If I bypass the receiver, the uhd worked fine, but due to the complexity of my setup, I'm not willing to lose hdmi passthrough. I have ordered a hdcp 2.2 to 1.4 converter, that I have yet to try, in hopes of a fix. This should make the xbox think it is going into an hdcp 2.2 device prior to hitting my receiver.

Tldr; if you use an older receiver or older 4k tv, make sure they support hdcp 2.2, or else uhd content on xbox one s will not work out of the box.
