Help: R53 issue

My EML light came on, the car is like in a limp mode, i cannot accelerate, and a lot of different lights came on. I just idle like the car still does it's idle movements but does not accelerate, anyone know what this could be or what to maybe expect? The car is an automatic, i have noticed lately a ticking from the car when i accelerate as well. Like if i give it some gas from a stop i can hear what sounds like metal hitting metal tick.
