200 rare medals or 35 orbs?

I'm thinking of getting the purple Shunsui in the Medal Exchange. However, I know I'm not going to use him other than to max him out for the 35 orbs, so I'm not sure if it's worth it. I'm not hurting for orbs or anything (I have close to 2000), so I'm tempted to just save my medals for next month's characters. What do you all think?
