USA->Vietnam Visa Question

Hey

So I leave for a backpacking trip to Southeast Asia in a couple of days, and have not made any arrangements to acquire a visa to visit Vietnam. I am simply curious is I am completely out of luck in terms of visiting, (no biggie, hadn't really planned on going there) or if there is some recourse I could take to get a short visa to visit.

All the info I find seems to be dated a bit, and was curious if anyone knew.
