I probably ruined my professor's career

I was put in an unfortunate/awkward situation last fall where another student reported grant falsification by my professor and then the deans came to me for details. I decided to report it officially at the time, and a lot of extreme, stressful things have happened since then largely due to my professor's unreasonable reactions to things.

On the other hand though, I miraculously managed to get my PhD and get the job of my dreams, and I'm so grateful every day how lucky I am right now. But today, my colleague who worked in the same lab until recently told me that the school is intent on not giving him tenure/getting rid of him.

The thing is, there are probably a lot of cheaters like him out there given the stressful environment in academia today. If he was just a little more reasonable and decent as a fellow human being, things would not have gotten this bad and he could've had his second/third chance.

But I can't help feeling that I'm ultimately the one who ended his career. I can't help feeling that I caused him and his innocent family a lot of trouble and probably significant changes in their lives.. How do I get over this?
