Solo Travel to Ireland

Hello!! I posted maybe a month ago saying I had 5 days to travel in October, but as luck would have it I now have a week and I impulsively bought round trip tickets to Dublin. I fly from Newark.

I fly out 10/1 and fly home 10/9 so that makes 7 full days. This is my first solo travel and I wanted to know if you guys had suggestions on itinerary. I certainly want to see what I can w/out over extending myself on driving or bus travel. (talk to me about driving a car out there too haha)

Also just any suggestions for places to eat and drink as well as good places for a solo traveler to maybe run into other solo travelers. It sounds like Ireland in general is quite friendly and I'll have no problem making some local friends and hopefully some visiting friends as well.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions/tips/help!
