Not sure where to post but thought you may be able to help with a bogus email.

Like I said, but I'm not sure where to ask but I figured you'd be able to help or at least direct me to the appropriate subreddit.

Got an email from an email address using my friend's name (firstname.lastname274@telus.net) with a little filler text and a link to a .ru website. The link had my name in it. I'm including the link for completions sake but please don't click it. Link is (www3 . tead . news3640e . ru/ firstname-lastname/).

I asked her and she said that the email address isn't hers nor did she send anything like it. Clicked on the link on a throwaway machine and it led to some kind of weightloss oil ad that I'm assuming is meant to deliver malware or something.

So, my question is, who's more likely to have been compromised, me or her?
