Suggestions for Max Block Necromancer-BV-DW Cybil's Paws?
REKT
With 2.4.0 patchnotes Blade vortex has been fulminated. From 50 stacks to 20 with 64% more damage. 34,4% nerf damage. Also the mana management now is innecessary, the duration and cast speed can be much lower too.
Yes, it mostly applies to bosses (because you usually ran with lower stacks), but I don't care about the clearspeed as much as I do about the clear ability. I will have to find a spell that benefits from durations (fire ball burns with massive AOE from jewels?).
Hi,
Theorycrafting for 2.4 I have a build in mind, and I wanted to share with you so you might help me to improve it.
- 105 points
- 192% life
- 4,4% life regeneration
- 3 jewels
- 120% increased duration
- 30% increased area of effect.
- 145% increased applicable damage (and 18% elemental)
- 38% increased cast speed
- 5% chance to Shock
- 30% increased Effect of Flasks.
- 55% chance to avoid stuns while casting
Uniques Required:
- [[Cybil's Paw]] x2
- [[Rumi's Concoction]] (a low roll is enough)
- [[Stone of Lazhwar]]
- [[Doryani's Invitation]] (Lightning version).
Ideal Uniques:
- [[Berek's Grip]] (This would allow us to drop Warlord's Mark and use a damaging curse).
- [[Essence Worm]] (This would allow us to put Hatred in it and use Herald of Ash+Blasphemy for a total of 84% mana reserved)
- [[Vessel of Vinktar]] Lightning pen. variant (This would allow us to drop Doryani's Invitation).
- [[Atziri's Promise]] (I'm not sure if it double dips, gaining chaos damage from the base phys AND the elemental damage gained/converted).
- [[Taste of Hate]]
- Corrupted Cybil's Paws with +6% block chance.
Links:
- Whirling Blades + Faster Attacks + Fortify
- Blasphemy + Warlord's Mark + Hatred
- Bone Offering + Increased Duration + Vaal Clarity + Rallying Cry
- Tempest Shield + Riposte + Blind + Innervate
- Desecrate + Golem (not clear) + Decoy Totem + Minion&Totem Resis.
- Blade Vortex + Spell Echo + Controlled Destruction + Phys to Lightning + Added Fire Damage + Inc. Area (swap Inc. Area for Conc. Effect on bosses)
Thoughs about the build:
- Dual wielding Cybil's Paw while at 75% block chance gives us 240% increased spell damage (for a total 385% increased damage)
- Mana problems are something common on BV builds, I would need 159 mana regen with this setup (ignoring cast speeds buffs from ascendancy/onslaught). The investment to have a huge mana pool for the regen was to big. If I would use it in par with Mind Over Mater I would had needed leech, so this fixed nothing. Using a moderate mana pool to have enough mana to cast the blades wouldn't let me reserve mana, and Eldrich battery wouldn't let me use Whirling Blades unless I used Ghost Reaver. That's why I decided to leech the mana to sustain BV. But this has a problem: I can't preload BV in the preparation phase of a boss. 3 casts of desecrate (limit) for 15 corpses (limit) and a devouring totem can generate 885 mana (gained when needed), I need abou 1500~ mana to reach full stacks so I still need a lot of regeneration. And finally the option I choose: Vaal Clarity kicks in, with a duration of 28.116 seconds.
- Two perfect Cybil's Paws would get us to 800 life regen. Out of bosses would depend on the number of stacks we use. This allow us to consider using Righteous Fire (though most of our damage is spell damage and won't work together).
- Unique damaging flasks work better with physical skills. That's why we get flask effect that it's so far from the lower part of the tree. We are in the perfect position, and thus this build without flasks wouldn't make much sense. Would have a medium damage (that's why I don't plan doing it as the first on the league).
- With Doryani's Invitation we get a 15% chance to shock, and about half of our damage is lightning. We provably can shock everything but bosses. Vessel of Vinktar makes it easy.
- 549 life on block and 75% spell block, actually makes reflects maps benefit us.
- Our Bone Offering lasts 19.88 seconds.
- 5% crit chance (minimum cap, doesn't matter controlled destruction) at 50 hits per seconds are 2,5 crit/second * enemy. We can assume Elemental Overload kicking in with over 3 blades active.
- If we take the Endurance Charge and Oak's reward Endurance Charge, an Increased Duration + Immortal Call with 5 charges lasts for 4.276 seconds, allowing to have permanent IC (as long we keep generation EC with Warlord's Mark). I decided to leave this option out because this build won't have problems with multitudes, but with bosses. If I cannot sustain permanent IC on boss fights, I prefer the phys reduction of the charges.
- Blade Vortex + Inc. Area of Effect + Curse on Hit + Curse would allow me to drop the Blasphemy. As it takes twice as much links and already have many skills to use, I discarded it.
- Pulling enemies with [[Empire's Grasp]] and the Tempest Shield link on it (with Blind replaced by Chain) and having Herald of Thunder + Knockback somewhere (or cursing with Projectile Weakness) was also considered. Also the Fending Cluster is just 2 points away. But I discarded it because of the excess of uniques that would make me struggle with resistances and flat life.
- The Desecrate + Golem (not clear) + Decoy Totem + Minion&Totem Resis is the link I have less clear, I just put there all the skills I though I could use.
- I pretend to carry other gems on the weapon swap: Concentrated Effect (swap of Inc. Area), Flesh Offering (faster casting, then swap to bone offering for the spell damage from block), Spirit Offering (In case I want to go hybrid and face some boss where DPS it's not the main concern, or want to switch to poison), Inc. Area of effect (In case I run a second BV), Chain (for Tempest Shield), Culling Strike (In case I run a tactical BV setup. you only need one active blade with this, not all the stacks).
- The only solutions this build has for secondary damage or DOT are a staunching flask and 4.4% life regen.
I currently have a question about Mistress of Sacrifice + Spirit Offering regarding if the 16% ES gained is base (like the one you get from an armour) or final. If it's base it would be totally OP and might make me want to alter this build.
