Huh? MAPS research on PTSD used time between doses of 3 to 5 weeks.
Thought this was interesting...
It seems MAPS did a study on MDMA and treating PTSD, measuring cognitive affects, and therapeutic effects, and spaced the timing of dosing by 3 to 5 weeks(!).
It's interesting to me because of the timing, especially from an organization that promotes harm reduction (I already knew it would be effective).
The caveats are this was a three MDMA-session test (although they only published results from 2 sessions), so obviously longer-term there could be effects with this pattern of use -- but to use that timing as their test criterion, from a harm reduction organization... I thought was interesting.
Some of the facts: "The first dose of MDMA (125mg) or placebo was given in a capsule by mouth at 10a.m...
...The optional supplemental dose of 62.5mg MDMA or placebo was administered 2–2.5h after the initial dose if the investigators judged it to be safe and advisable and the subject agreed to it. The supplemental dose was administered in 22 of the 23 sessions in which it was an option..." (yeah, no shit)
Also Noted: "Zolpidem was administered following 31 of 51 MDMA- assisted sessions (60.7%) and after 11 of 16 psychotherapy- only sessions (68.8%) (p1⁄40.77). Benzodiazepines were administered following (though usually not the same day as) 24 of 51 MDMA-assisted sessions (47.0%) and after six of 16 psychotherapy-only sessions (37.5%) (p 1⁄4 0.57 – both with Fisher’s Exact Test)"
