I've seen a lot of things, like a God
You can read where this started and my last entry.
I am still answering questions and comments on those two, as there are so few, so go ask me some questions. Now, I’m very excited about this story, so I want to jump right in. It is one of the rare cases of an otherworldly or supernatural entity that is not outright hostile and I believe to be rather benevolent! Also, one of the few times I have physical and current evidence to show you. The second story, not so much. But, that’s just to give you trouble sleeping as is this subreddits goal. Anyway, enjoy!
Backstory on this one. I don’t mind telling you where I was as I have moved on and away. When the supernatural starts spawning around me, I can’t stay, no matter how much I enjoy it there. So, I’ve already started moving north.
I was staying in Vero Beach, Florida, a relatively small coastal city, working at the local airport as a fueler. It was a pretty good job, and they didn’t mind a drifter coming in to work for an indeterminate time. Being in that position, I got the shit shift. I would frequently help open at 4 AM, or close past midnight. And, after gaining some trust, and I guess someone else complained and got their shift changed, I was moved to opening on weekends, alone. So, Friday through Sunday, I was up at 4, and out by 2.
If you live in South Florida, or have visited this time of year, you would know we get seasonal afternoon showers. But, we also had been being threatened by a tropical event, 99L turning into TS Gaston. So, Friday morning was cloudy and dreary. But, the storms that were around never hit us. It remained overcast but dry. Pleasant, really.
The next day, Saturday morning was when I noticed something was strange. It was similar to the day before, I went in at 4, with flashing lightning on the horizon, and got to work. When the sun came up the clouds had encroached on our airfield, and I started making the required calls to warn of impending storm weather. But, it never hit. For the next 7 hours of my shift, the clouds rumbled and rained around us, but not on us. It was strange. So, I went inside and checked the weather radar. What I saw made me aware the something was going on. First, let me show you. Watch this radar recording, watch Vero Beach.
You should be looking specifically for this point.
The weather was specifically moving around us. Avoiding us. Why?
Quick lesson on how storms and weather works. When the sun heats the earth it causes different levels of pressure across the Earth, which causes wind, and also weather patterns. Storms, hurricanes, blizzards, really any large meteorological event tends to be caused by areas of low pressure. The low pressure draws in everything around it, collecting clouds and storm cells into a single, powerful storm. The opposite can happen, too. An area of high pressure can push all weather away, creating perfectly clear skies. So, I thought we were in a strange high pressure pocket, pushing all the weather away. I was wrong.
Look at this, specifically down the page, the Hourly Observations. The pressure readings column are all completely normal, even a little bit low which is very strange for this kind of weather.
That day of work ended without incident. I went home and thought about it. I also answered your comments. It was interesting.
The next day, Sunday morning, when Tropical Storm Gaston was supposed to make landfall right on top of us with 80% probability. Weather report for evidence of this belief. But, that didn’t happen. Also, the current projection for it.
So, why did it fizzle? Why did we stay unusually dry? I believe I saw the cause.
It was about 11 on Sunday morning, I had just gotten back from my lunch break, and most of the flights of the day were grounded because of surrounding weather. Even if the planes took off they wouldn’t really have anywhere to go safely. I started driving my truck around, checking that the planes were secured on the ground in case of the weather turning on us.
Then, across the runways, roughly 700 feet away, I saw a figure emerge from the tree line. Humanoid, but huge, roughly ¾ the height of the trees, and glowing a bright, neon blue. Through the glow and distance I could make out no features. Mist coalesced around its feet, billowing out around it. It took long, steady steps out into the field between runways.
All the hair on my body stood on end. The hair on my head I’ve let grow rather long, just past my shoulders, but it was all floating in the air, standing on end. It was then that I got scared, very scared. I drive a fuel truck around. It holds about 1200 gallons of aviation gas. That’s about four tons of explosive fluid, volatile enough that we are required to connect a grounding cable to each plane before fueling because a static spark is enough to ignite the fuel. As I stepped out of my truck I got a spark from the door.
I ran to the back of the truck and grabbed the grounding cable, once again I was shocked. Physically, not emotionally. I pulled the cable out and took it to the dirt, off the asphalt. I quickly burrowed a small hole and buried the clamp at the end of the grounding cable. Just as it was covered there was an explosion.
A great crackling, then the crash of thunder. I was knocked down, blasted into the grass. When I recovered, the truck was fine, but rocking on its suspension. The being was gone. I looked up into the surrounding clouds and could watch a string of lightening wriggle its way back and forth across the clouds, working its way south. It was followed by a quiet rumbling of thunder and the dissipation of the clouds it passed through.
Then it was over. The day was beautiful. I combed my hair down. I went home and started writing this up.
That was the most powerful creature I’ve ever come across, and certainly the largest. Here’s a picture of the tree line to give you an idea of the size. The most remarkable thing was that it didn’t frighten me, not in the instinctual way other supernatural beings have gotten to me. I firmly believe this was a deity, or at least a creature that was made holy by Native American tribes. Potentially what inspired the thunderbird and similar myths?
It may not have been all good, however. I am thankful at the moment that I am drafting this in Word rather than on reddit because there is a heavy storm outside, and the library I am in just lost their internet. Are my sighting and this storm correlated? I can’t tell you for sure.
I’m sorry that my foolishness got this story taken down yesterday, for those of you that noticed. I’m reposting it now, properly. But, on the upside, that means you have two storied to read!
I will have to wait for the 24 hour rule to pass (having now read the rules more thoroughly), but leave a a spot for the link for it down below when it is up
