Tera styled game

I've decided to jump back into mmorpg after a huge leave from Tera; mainly because of life I havent been up to date with the latest mmorpgs and am wondering if theres anything similar to tera (before you get your pitchforks out; i did use the search bar)

Im looking for:

  • 'fun' grind to endgame (my only irk about Tera was the tediousness of the grind to endgame),
  • in depth endgame for PVE and PVP (mainly pve because i live in australia and my ping is utterly trash)
  • Tera's action combat system

I seem to see negative comments for every game i try to look into on reddit. GW2 seems to be out because the endgame is pretty shallow, Blade and Soul has its issues, etc etc

Or should i just stay away from this fuckfest until a good game comes in and go play rocket league

You are probably best off waiting for Revelation Online. East MMOs is not in a good place right now.

I took a look and its pretty much what I'm looking for, when is the release date?

It's currently open beta in China. Suppose to be first closed beta for NA/EU sometime next month. The official website is here. Some people don't like my.com and some people don't mind them. Personally I've only played their game Skyforge and they had a few pay 2 win events here and there.

I would take a second look into this if i were you, if you are looking for true action combat Revalation Online is a disappointment. The only action combat classes are the 2 melee classes. All the ranged classes have like 90% tab targeted skills

Played a bit on the CN server, maybe it was the latency but the combat is not that good. You can choose to tab target or action. So far every game that had both failed.

In the huge spectrum of end game for games, that really isn't a whole lot. One of the reasons I enjoyed tera was that once I hit 65; 10 dungeons opened up but each was harder then the next so you usually had to have the previous dungeons equipment before progressing onto the next, and this was just for pve.

That being said I'll give gw2 a try since I have nothing better to do and wait until something like Revelation online is released

You're looking for a gear treadmill.

Well it wasn't the act of acquiring the gear that gets me, I probably hated that rng the most. What I liked about it was discovering the next dungeon, and starting over again; learning it inside-out, the bosses fight patterns, etc until I could finally complete the run

Probably Rocket League. Your definitions of what you're looking for reminds me all too well of a common sight, and you'll probably never truly be happy about MMORPGs.

I have read the other posts (currently 15) and since you did like Tera and think it's dying I would like to point out that people generally quit and only come back for the new stuff. Either content or gear grind. They get the stuff, leave, and come back some time later. This may also be an option for you as well.

If you haven't try vindictus. If you can put up with it's low population and being a bit more grindy.

Revelation online is what gets as close as it can to Tera style. I've been checking many MMORPGs for me only worthwhile mmorpgs were WoW and Tera so i feel ya. Revelation is the future hope if they dun ruin it with p2w, but it has the Tera potential to survive without p2w.

Try Vindictus. It has far better combat than Tera or Blade & Soul.

It's grindy, but fair.

I was looking for a game similar to Tera after a break of over 8 months...ended up going back to Tera and a lot has changed in the last 8 months lol. If you haven't played the Brawler or Ninja class yet come back, game feels brand new and there's people at every Tier playing atm.

What's changed about it? And I thought tera was relatively dying as more and more people leave for other games

Trivializing of everything but endgame. Priests can solo 5 man dungeons now with the avatar weapons. BAMs are now literal faceroll.

Ya, but we keep coming back because there's new content and they change/balance/create classes. They reinvent themselves often lol.

I just picked Tera back up so I'm still learning all the changes but for instance (not sure how long you've been gone) There's the Gunner class (ranged cone-based dmg dealer that wears plate), Brawler (hand to hand tank that can DPS), Ninja (close range AOE melee toon). They've also redid the Sorc it seems where they do a lot more dmg, and they are getting ready to release a redo of the Archer class. For the Mystic (I'm playing that class now) a ton has changed. The tank pet won't despawn if you summon another pet (DPS/Heal) and it's a actual tank. Often times in dungeon's my tank pet is THE group's tank. Then they've combined some of the spells like the one that increases your attack speed and power (used to be a 20 second AOE mystic's would cast) is now 1 of the Aura's you maintain...they buffed the dmg of mystic's a lot (I'm told if a mystic goes DPS spec they can compete against other dps's not sure though) and buffed the healing ability of Mystic's. I'm having a blast on my Mystic honestly.

Way slower gameplay, but what about ESO?

There is Black Desert, but the pve is sad.
