Cam Neely review

Other

First 17 review, going based on day 1-2 in division 9-8 playing what feels like division 2 players.

So the man myth, kick his ass sea bass Cam Neely has played 12 games for me, mainly at rw lines 1-2. He is a big improvement on last years rendition and adds some net front presence(his synergy to I do believe) to the team.

Skating wise he looks like the 1990s superstar skating in a faster league. I also have wheeler who fittingly has better wheels but overall he's just kinda fast.mHe does however do well with puck protect, and only gets rekt when i skate into opposing players. Skating isn't his main selling point for me.

He has a rocket of a shot and is used on the point for my power plays. He really leans into them and has impressed me with that albeit at cost of accuracy, but also seems to clean up trash well. 3 of his goals were ugly net front type scrambles and he can score from most places on the ice with this rocket shot.

Hands wise he is serviceable, but not amazing. Thornton and krecji have better hands for comparison. He dekes well and has some hands but didn't wow me with his dangles, similarly he passes well and seems to have swell but not sick mitts.

Checking is his second best attribute, he will wreck opposing players but did get some calls that looked like mass issues. Overall he hits a bit better than lucic, with the wheels to catch people head down and seems to recover quickly and seek the puck out.

Defensively he's definitely a power forward and didn't impress me, he seemed to clog lanes and block shots well but he got several tripping calls and was average defensively on a whole. He tried PKing but wasn't quite the best for it.

12 gp with lucic and krecji, 8 goals 5 assists 14 Pim +4

Would recommend at his price, but having also gotten Wheeler I'd go him first for the similar price.
