Injection supplies!

Hey guys, I just wanted to share that AllegroMedical has pretty decent prices for syringes and needles etc and does NOT require a script to order them. They have syringes down to 1 mL for those of us on lower doses AND you can order by the box of 100 or individually, which is great if you're on a tight budget. Standard shipping runs around 7 or 8 bucks from them.

Since their search function is a tad unwieldy here are the syringes I'm talking about.

They also have a special running until the 19th of September: free shipping for orders over $50, if you want to buy in bulk (typically a year or more supply).

Question: isn't buying needles/syringes in bulk bad? I've heard they expire after a while, meaning there's a point at which the packaging starts to degrade and they're no longer sterile.

If you're buying syringes in bulk, it's probably best not to go further than four years; the ones I bought in December 2015 say they expire in December 2019. My needles, however, don't expire until 2020 and 2026. Since they all come in boxes of 100, it's about a 2 year supply assuming weekly injections (and no loss) or about a 4 year supply for bi-weekly injections (and no loss).

TL;DR: A one to four year supply is fine, but don't expect them to keep longer than that. Also, you might decide to switch to pellets or something once you're down to a maintenance dose, so I'd shoot for about a two year supply at the most.

I use AllegroMedical as well and can't recommend them enough. The syringes and needles expiration date are about 3 years away from purchase and they are so much cheaper and easier to use than anything else. Also, they ship really quickly (it came the same day they sent me the shipping notification email).
