/u/shitposterNYI's Review of: PK Subban

I hope to review every base card and legend by January this year, just to help the community be informed before they purchase a big name player! Instead of focusing on skating/shooting/defense/hands/checking like most reviews I am going to split my reviews in to 3 parts: Positive, negative and x-factors. Enjoy and if you have any requests please leave them down below!

#Today's Review: PK Subban, RD, Nashville Predators

Positives: PK Subban is one of the best defenseman I have ever used in any NHL Ultimate team, and I don't say that lightly. Let's start with his most popular asset, his slapshot. When PK Subban shoots a slapshot from anywhere on the ice, it has a chance to get in or be tipped in. Even from weird angles, PK can score with the best forwards just through the sheer power of his shot. He can shoot the puck through even the best goalies. PKs hands and skating also make him dangerous. It's truly what makes HUT worth playing, taking the puck up the ice with Subban. Even though he is listed as an Offensive Juggernaut, he could easily be a speedster because his speed and acceleration are second only to Karlsson among defensemen. His hands, and overall stick skills let him dominate in every zone as well. While he doesn't have the fastest hands on Earth, he can do every dangle with relative ease and has top tier puck control, comparable to forwards like Tavares and Giroux. He will rarely be knocked off of the puck, only if a significantly bigger player hits him will he totally go down. PK has tremendous defensive prowess as well. He always seems to be in the right position to pick off the cross creases, and his speed allows him to catch up to the occasional forward who gets behind him.

Negatives: I only have two qualms with Subbans game so far. First off, his pokecheck is not as automatic as it used to be in previous NHL titles. I don't know if this is a change from all players, but I notice that if you aren't in the right position with PK and throw a poke or lift the stick, you will get called much more often, which wasn't the case with previous iterations of Subban.

PK was also a lockerroom distraction to my team. He celebrated a lot and sometimes he even gave the puck away to the other team which would resulting the occasional goal against. This is why I traded him for a True Leader^^^(TM) in Shea Weber. As you know, Shea is a good Canadian boy and is a True Leader^^^(TM) and would never ever give the puck away. He also hits people and lifts heavy things, which will intimidate the other team into submission. I'm sure glad I got rid of that bum Subban, he rarely hit people and had 0 grit.

X-Factor: Everyone knows PK has one of the best slippers in the game but I believe his wrister is criminally underrated. If you get into the slot, it's nearly an automatic goal for Subban. Seriously, utilize the wrist shot with PK, it will make him much more dangerous from all over the ice.

Cheap Alternatives: Adam Larsson, Anton Stralman, Seth Jones

On deck: Max Pacioretty, Connor Mcdavid, Joe Thornton
