Yeah, I know how you feel...

"Ooh, a surgeon!"

Doctoring on priorities menu grayed out. :)

Shortly thereafter killed by bloodlusting colonist. Nothing of value was lost.

No, something was gained.

Low food warning disappears...

It's lucky that organs don't go off, isn't it?

Don't worry, tynan considers this a bug. Like Doc doctor cant do medical treatment. It will be fixed.

I'm assuming it's mainly because of conflicting backstories, right?

It seems like the first backstory is applied, but the second backstory still has the ability to disable things from the first backstory.

My solution is to give some backstory guaranteed traits, like Cooking for Master Chef. Then you could either choose an appropriate second backstory that doesn't conflict with the first, or override the decision to disable something that doesn't make sense.

Yes, some back stories disable jobs the settler should be able to do.

Yeah, with so many people complaining on reddit recently I am 99.9% sure he will fix it in the next update.

I always wondered what was up with that. I once had a navy scientist with researching disabled, so he became a meat shield.

Really wish they came with some random backstory to at least explain why they can't do something.

mouseover the childhood/adulthood backstory?

He cooked a meal so legendary, he was left unable to cook anything ever again, as he knows he'll never reach that peak again.

I figure he's just sick and tired of people saying "make me a sammich!"

"Sorry, Chef, but I don't suppose you've got ketchup to put on this Boeuf Bourguignon?"...

RiffyDivine2•

I thought it was just short little generic blurbs anyone with those backstory bits had? Does it change?

1
Lying_idiotDictator / Soap Opera Director•

Some of them can be generic, true, but they all expand upon the title, or add some more detail.

I think the player can kind of infer it without much difficulty.

This colonist was a badass chef once upon a time, probably learned how to use a knife real well.

The Stab Scars are probably related to the Chef career and the Brawler attribute. He probably got into a really bad fight, got stabbed a bunch, and never returned to cooking after the injuries. s

Maybe he's traumatized against cooking due to the fight.

All he knows now is fighting in a melee, with the knives he once used to create beautiful food.

That is better than me. I just think this guy is so lazy someone threw a brick at him and now he woke up here.
