Anybody have experience with Gunbroker. Com?

Just wondering if anyone here has worked with Gunbroker.com before or how that whole process works. I'm thinking about buying a PSL, but I've never bought via an online source and I recall hearing that there's some hoops I'm going to have to jump through.

Edit: I'm perfectly fine with a good alternative if anyone has one. :v

It's just an auction site, they have a really good buyer's guide too. I did my first gun purchase through a dude on GunBroker, it went pretty smooth and my local gun store I did the transfer through was pretty helpful with the process.

Basically you win, send money and your FFL's information, seller sends to FFL, you pick it up, you shoot gun.

It is often the source of the comparative price for any older gun.

Almost every dealer uses it to establish current market pricing on every military surplus or collector's item.

All my purchases have been hassle free, and easily completed. Never a whiff of sketchy dealer to whom I hesitated to send a check.

Gunbroker is basically an ebay front-end for online buying from other gun stores or private sellers. That's all.

There aren't hoops, but like most online sales from FFLs, you need to have the gun shipped to an FFL and do a transfer. It's not like buying from your neighbor just in another state.

It is safe and it works. I've bought 4 guns on gunbroker.

I have purchased three guns on it so far without any trouble. It is very unnerving to just send money to an address and hope a gun comes back in the mail(to your local FFL). If you are buying current production yet still rare guns, prepare to pay MSRP for them.

Do they offer any kind of escrow service? If you buy and seller never ships does gunbroker get involved or do you have to work through your credit card company?

Just used it last week to buy a Hi Power from CDI Sales. Gunbroker is great.. Great at emptying my wallet..

I opened an account to bid and they charged me a dollar just to open the account it was kind of annoying.

Right, but its a single dollar. The benefits of being able to see completed sales and use that information to help price your own stuff if you're wanting to sell is worth it to a good many people

I guess? Anyways I opened the account but ended up buying a gun from the local gun store was cheaper then what it would have cost online with shipping

It is annoying but it's for a reason. It really helps keep down the spam and scams. I've bought from gunbroker vendors about a half dozen times including about three guns. As long as you use regular auction-website caution it's easy to avoid problems.
