**WARNING** - Do Not Buy iPhones From Apple if You Have UDP - Not Even If You Buy Them Full Retail

There have been lots of problems when people purchased iPhones through apple, even when they purchased the phones full retail. The following things have happened to people:

1. Booted off of UDP when the subsidized iPhone was activated over iTunes with an inactive Verizon SIM card in it;

2. PUs appeared on people's UDP lines even when they paid full retail for the phone;

3. Contracts not extending but PU on the line blocked the ability to re-use the upgrade; and

4. iPhones requiring last 4 of account owner's SSN and billing zip code to activate.

If you have any UDP lines on your account and have to give Apple your Verizon account info to buy the phone, I would not do it. I would NOT buy any iPhones from an Apple store or apple.com if it requires them accessing your Verizon account.

If you can buy a SIM free iPhone from Apple without having to give your Verizon account info. that should be fine.
