Trevor Linden Review

Hey everybody, long time lurker first time poster here. This subreddit has helped me so much over the last couple years in improving my game and becoming a Div 1 regular (this year ehhh not so much) I thought I would do a review of one of my favorite players of all time Trevor Linden in case anyone was thinking of getting him.

Skating: 8/10 His skating rating is something other worldly but in real life Chell it doesn't seem nearly as impressive as the 94 speed and acceleration would suggest. He feels much like Jumbo Joe in that he's a bit 'sluggish'. However, cuts are quite nice and responsive and he does feel really smooth. I was just expecting a little much punch to his skating and am left wanting more.

Shooting: 7/10 Slap- Absolute cannon that rarely hits its target.

Wrist- Absolute cannon that rarely hits its target.

Like with the skating I was a bit dissapointed with Lindens shooting. The power is there but my goodness, I don't think I've missed more shots and WIDE open nets with anyone I've used so far this year. It's honestly almost unbelievable; I'll miss a gimme and look and just shake my head and think, oh of course it's Trevor. His shot rating are the same or better than another hero who I love in Byuck, however while Byuck consistently snipes for me, Linden just can't quite put that together.

Hands: 9.5/10 Linden posseses some slick hands and a long stick which makes him great for carrying the puck into the zone with. I've found his wide reach to be an excellent weapon to use against poke check spammers. Trevs draws a lot of penalties. He also bats a lot of pucks out of the air which leads to turnover chances and gets a ton of tips. Definitely not let down by his hands ;)

Checking: 7.5/10 Another area I've been a bit dissapointed with in a Linden is his checking, specifically his strength on the puck. I've used Jumbo Joe and Lindros and they are beasts on the puck, however i don't feel that security with Linden. I am constantly being knocked off the puck from Glancing blows and much smaller guys which you all know can get infuriating.

I will say that because of his high hands ratings I tend to 'bulldoze' and continue with the puck even after getting hit though which can lead to chances but someone Linden size with his strength ratings I was expecting a lot more. In my biased opinion I think Jumbo Joe is stronger on the puck. Lindens hitting is solid though and can lay out almost anyone with little windup.

Defence: 9.5/10

Trevs defence for me has been great. He's a +15 in the 25 games I've played with him which I think is owed largely to his pokechecking, defence awareness, and hitting. He seems to be all over the ice and I noticed him more defensively than even my WCOH Gilmore who has DR engaged. He's a great centre in terms of defensive play. Plus his height and reach only strengthen this

Faceoffs: best faceoff guy on my team. His forehand grip wins a lot even when I'm countered properly.

Overall (and taking value into consideration) 8/10 Overall I like Hero Linden, but I'm left wanting more. He's feel to me just like jumbo Joe but perhaps a bit faster and with a harder shot. He's still objectively really good, but as a 94 hero with his size and skill set I really thought he was going to dominate for me but he really hasn't.

I know that's partly due to me and my play style but for a comparison, in 25 games Linden has 16 points. My other hero Byuck is ppg in over 40 games. And when I has Lafontaine (had to sell him to get Linden) he was nearly point per game in over 40 games as well. I also borrowed Lindros from a buddy to test him out and he had something stupid like 7/8 points in 3 games.

For 250k, and as a big Linden fan, I sadly have to say that I think it would be worth it spend your coins elsewhere. I'm seriously thinking about selling him and repurchasing lafontange and using the rest of the coins to upgrade other roster spots. That unless someone convinces me to give him another shot. Though I think 25 games is a solid sample size.

Anyways, that's my review and what I think of Hero Trevor Linden. If this wasn't too terrible I'd be down to do a couple more (some of my other players are Byuck, Wheeler, WCOH Gilmore, Letang, Legend Cujo, and others)
